Aeia Bridled, movement 3: The Schoolmarm
Excerpt from the longer piece entitled Aeia Bridled. The Schoomarm represents extreme and abusive authority, in all its forms. Aeia Bridled had a horse-themed aesthetic, hence the blinders and bridle-suggesting headpiece. The piece is done in silence; the sound of the dancer's body slaps, stomps, voice, and breathing are in fact the "music." Ideally the sound would be miked. In this example, the sound was enhanced by reverb and simple effects added to the live sound - but effects are not essential for the functioning of the piece.

Most of the lighting is open to interpretation, except it is a dark piece and therefore the stage should not be TOTALLY lit. Near the end there is a square of eight spots that the dancer skips through. At the end there is a special downstage right that she dances and ends the piece in.

The headpiece is reminiscent of a horse's bridle and blinders. Tight stretchy sleeveless top that is close to skin color but not totally. Tartan skirt and combat-type boots.
