Verdansk is a abstract solo that can be used for a gala, dance competition or to be included in a performance as a solo. It is a very powerful and challenging piece that was choreographed and premiered during the covid19 pandemic at Teatrul De Balet Sibiu (Sibiu ballet Theatre) in Romania. Verdansk was also performed for various Galas and has been recently selected to be performed in South Korea. It is a very physical piece with a dark background and its just for both the audience and the dancer to enjoy and think of it as whatever they may like. . The Dancer in video is named: Joao Gomes previously with Conservatorio Annarella Sanchez (Portugal), Teatrul De Balet Sibiu (Romania) and currently a dancer with Narodni Divadlo Brno (Czech Republic). In the video that you may see the lights I created were good for the stage and the audience but on the video it came out a little bit to dark. However at the beginning there should only be one corridor light for when the dancer enter at the start of the piece and should be the same again for the end of the piece. Ideally it would be great to just have a strong white light coming from the back of stage above creating a dark and intense atmposhphere. You are able to play with the light design if you would like. PLEASE NOTE: in the video footage where is to dark on stage during the TUTORIAL of the choreography I explain the step with more clarity.
Dancer must be very strong and versatile both in classical and contemporary work. Dancer must have very strong technique, power and stage presence. After purchasing this choreography I would be more then happy to help with private rehearsal of 1 hour each time in order to bring the choreographic style and solo to life. Please do contact me in private after purchasing the work in order to set up dates and times.
Long pants, Samurai style. Preferably skin colour pants and skin colour shoes. Topless for men. Woman is aloud to wear a sport bra, leotard, mesh shirt or anything that she feels comfortable in.
